Lateral and Sewer Connections
The Florida Keys are in the middle of a vast water reclamation and sewage collection modernization. In other words, efforts are being made to keep run-off and sewage from reaching our surrounding waters by installing centralized sewage plants throughout the Keys. You will receive a “Notice to Connect” and from that point you have 30 days to do so according to the Florida Keys Aqueduct Authority.
Currently the Big Coppitt Regional residents have received their notice and are connecting now; such area encompasses Big Coppitt, Geiger Key, Shark Key and Rockland Key. The next phase will be a portion of the Cudjoe Regional phase which includes Upper Sugarloaf, Cudjoe Key, and Summerland Key. Funding for the design phase is complete. Next, these plans should go to bid. Middle Keys Plumbing will update this page when sewer main time frame is known.
